Marketing Tips for Right Now

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, we have continued to push that #communication is still key. There is uncertainty for everyone, including buyers. But this doesn’t mean that people aren’t making purchases. It means that your #marketing should reflect higher sensitivity to the current events. Let’s look at five tips for marketing right now.

1. Let your customers know how you are helping.

Helping others right now is critical for any marketer. If you provide assistance to customers or reach out to help the #community in any way, share those stories. It sheds light on the type of business you run and could inspire others to help in different ways.

2. Show empathy.

Position your products or services in relevant ways that reflect a solution for their challenges. Does your product save time for parents that can provide help to kids doing virtual school? Do you help small businesses with special discounts when times are tight? Your messaging should reflect you understand people’s needs.

3. Provide options.

Through a mix of #print and online marketing, ensure your customers know any no-contact services, purchasing options and shipping capabilities available to them. Share the measures you are taking to put their safety first.

4. Focus on customer relationships and engagement.

People purchase from companies they like and #trust. This is more important than ever right now. Take the extra effort to engage with your customers. Show your human side and market using stories, not specs.

5. Avoid the hard sell.

There is a time for “Buy now!” “Don’t miss out!” Now may not be that time. Your customers still need your products and services, but there is a lot on everyone’s plate right now. Be thoughtful in your #messaging.

It’s important to keep marketing. It’s essential to shift how you do it.
